Congratulations are in order for our Miss Capital City 2009, Corina Harwood. She placed as 1st runner-up at the Miss Illinois Pageant on June 20th! As if that was not enough, Corina was named the recipient of the Carolyn Paulus Overall Talent Award for her incredible tap dance to “Dr. Jazz:”, and also earned the State of Illinois Miracle Maker Award for raising over $1200 for Children’s Miracle Network! All in all, Corina won a total of $5000 in scholarships this weekend. She is planning to use her earnings to fund her pursuit of a doctorate in Psychology. What an amazing representative we have!
