KIDS FEST is THIS SATURDAY!

The Capitol Radio Group is proud to announce KidsFest presented by CEFCU, an event with over 60 booths featuring information about the importance of children’s health, safety and education.  The event will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Prairie Capital Convention Center from 10:00am–4:00pm.  Admission to KidsFest is $3 per person with proceeds to benefit Children’s Miracle Network at St. John’s Children’s Hospital.  Kids 3 and under are free. 

There will be a Reading Zone with appearances by Curious George & Clifford and celebrity readers sponsored by Sylvan Learning Center.  In addition, Barnes & Noble will be selling books to benefit the Junior League of Springfield’s literacy campaign.  Enjoy demonstrations, food, bounce houses, the Upper Limits Rock Wall sponsored by SH Wireless of Chatham, door prizes, entertainment, The Magic of Jim Percy, and clown around with Kupcake and Jelly Bean.  Plus the Capitol City Speed Demons with have sports and other activities.  Go crazy in the kid’s craft area sponsored by Springfieldmoms.org and Walmart.  As well as video gaming with Game Crazy and Green Toyota, there will be the Illinois Secretary of State, Jesse White, Bicycle Safety Course sponsored by Country Financial.  There will also be a blood drive during the event for the Central Illinois Community Blood Center. 

Children age 12 months and younger can participate in the Diaper Derby sponsored by The Parent Place at 10:30am for a chance to win a baby care prize pack valued at $100 compliments of Walmart.  From 1:00pm-2:30pm on the Main Stage, the first 50 girls of any size ages 5-12 can participate in the American Girl Fashion Show Guest Model Contest.  Bring your doll and dress like her, too.  Have your photo taken by Kimberly Smoot Photography as part of this contest.
