The Perfect Dress and the Perfect Chair!

When today’s senior walked in wearing this dress I just knew it would look PERFECT with my new chair. Just one for now. Enjoy!

Blast from the PAST!

While I was in Chicago for a family wedding this past weekend I was able to squeeze in a quick photo session. What a blast from the PAST! Someone that I knew in the 8th grade and haven’t seen since freshmen year of college had contacted me about photographing her kids. We had so much fun catching up!

Congratulations to the NEWLYWEDS!

This is my sister and brother in law. They were married on Saturday. It felt so good to be able to simply enjoy the day. I had so much fun catching up with family and friends, but you know me…I couldn’t resist capturing a few of the many, many breathtaking moments as they occured throughout the day. More to come.

Congratulations to the NEWLYWEDS!

Just one!

Ok, just one, real quick before her mom loses it! LOL

Adding another from this session. Enjoy!

My Name in LIGHTS!

Go RED for Women!

Today was the American Heart Association’s Go RED for Women annual luncheon. Many, many women and a few men, all dressed in at least one red article of clothing, turned out at the Hilton for this event. If you would like to know more about the American Heart Association and Go Red for Women, you can find more information HERE.

There were lots of informational boothes set up for people to take a look at before the lunch was served.

Kimberly Smoot Photography was thanked in the program for photographing the emcees of the event. Dina Michaels, 103.7 WDBR Morning Show Host and Julie Staley from ABC NewsChannel 20 are always fun to work with! I photographed them last year for this event too.

The speaker, Elizabeth Hein, was awesome! She was a healthy, 27-year-old runner when she had a heart attack in 1996. Fortunately, she survived, and has been able to turn her experience into an inspirational message she is passionate about sharing with others. I talked to Elizabeth after her presentation and told her it wasn’t fair to make the photographer cry! I was touched by her genuine kindness.

URBAN BABY!

Something a bit different for me in baby photography. Usually you would find me photographing babies this age in the studio or at the park. While those images are super cute, don’t get me wrong, I wANTED to do something different in the way of baby photography. I really wanted to mix things up a bit. Before I knew it, URBAN BABY was created!

What is URBAN BABY? Urban Baby is a session for babies that are too cool for school. Actually, they are too young for school which is ok, but they must be old enough to sit up on their own. Super hip, trendy tots that want to rock out their very own photo session will love URBAN BABY and so will their moms! Call us for more details about URBAN BABY!

Autumn Afternoon in Springfield, Illinois
